Engineering Technician
Anyone working in highway engineering could be an EngTech. You don't need formal qualifications although most have a National or NVQ3. What you have to do is to prove competency.
Look at the EngTech self-assessment criteria to test yourself. (See ET3)
Engineering Technicians play a key support role for chartered and incorporated engineers. They apply proven techniques and procedures to solve practical problems. Many have supervisory responsibilities.
To become an Engineering Technician through IHE please download the Documents ET2 and ET3. Go to Forms and Guidance for the application and other forms you'll need and for our helpful advice leaflets. The Rough Guides are a helpful starting point.
Registered Technicians are Members of IHE (MIHE) and can progress to Fellow with increasing responsibility.
